The course meets 90 minutes in mid-February, mid-April and late-July. The course dates are spread across the Spring and Summer to ensure that participants are able to implement the communication strategies and craft a stellar welcome letter setting the tone for the upcoming academic year.
Each participant also receives two one-hour feedback sessions. One in mid-April and one in late-July. The feedback sessions ensure that the outcomes of the course meet the specific needs of each participant.
Course is limited to 8 participants and exact dates are set based on the participants’ availability.
Participants will learn how to:
Identify the key needs and expectations of stakeholders
Design and implement weekly and/or monthly communications to staff, families and community partners
Crafting written responses to local/national events
Align responses to district’s public relation’s policies
Participants will leave the course with:
A Welcome Letter for the upcoming academic year
Key stakeholders communication needs table
A communications schedule (including automated emails)
Top 5 writing and revision strategies for successful communication
