Who AM I?
I am a 20+ year educator who has helped colleagues secure grants of $100-$150,000. As a middle school teacher, I first started writing grants to purchase the art materials necessary for robust learning. A small $500 grant for paints and canvas boards led to purchases of a loom, busses for field trips and then expanded to gaining funding for repairing the theater curtains, professional development conferences and whole school initiatives. As a university professor, I leveraged my knowledge to help early career teachers pay for professional learning. Educators have secured funding to travel to Chile as well as national conferences.
The picture to the right is of me in Belize where I traveled for free to help preservice teachers learn how to teach writing. During non-school hours I was able to learn how to make a drum!
